Kilim Patchwork Rug is created by hand stitching small patches of antique and new Kilims. With a wealth of diverse patterns and broad spectrum of colors, kilim patchwork rug bring to you a mix of the ancient and contemporary taste of nomadic cultures across Afghanistan. The process of making Kilim patchwork rug is completed in two phases. First, Kilims are handwoven over vertical handlooms with vegetable-dyed sheep wool in flat-weave patterns and designs by the womenfolk of nomadic tribes. Second, antique and new Kilims are cut into small pieces and hand stitched to form a vivid collage and finished by hand sewing fabric on its reverse side.
